Role: Cricket Officer

Role Description:


We are recruiting a Cricket Officer to help develop and promote cricket at the club for both the short and long term and so improve playing membership. This is an exciting and key role for which appropriate remuneration will be made to the right candidate. Initially this is a fixed term contract

You will need to be a self starter, reliable and responsible, experienced in administration and coaching, have the ability to create long and meaningful networks and be results driven.

Duties will include:

  • Communicate with local schools to arrange visits and coaching sessions that promote Madeley Cricket Club to integrate players from schools into the club

  • Deliver 8 blocks of 2 hour training sessions per school. Whilst the club will do some initial work with the schools the successful candidate will be expected to develop that relationship which will determine the hours required

  • Act as single point of contact for Shropshire County Cricket League, Shropshire Cricket Board, the ECB and other bodies directly related to the promotion and playing of cricket

Essential Skills

  • Level 2 coach

  • Attended working in schools module

  • DBS cleared

  • First Aid trained

  • Child Welfare trained

  • Member of coaches association

  • Effective communication skills with children

  • Comfortable and experienced in dealing with different stakeholders including; teachers and education staff, regulatory bodies and others to board level

  • Confident to run cricket for teachers courses

  • IT literate and able to use C2S portals for training purposes

  • Able to keep detailed records of attendance and club migration
