Madeley 2nds who have improved over the last couple of weeks were looking for their third consecutive win against local rivals Much Wenlock 1sts.

Madeley won the toss and elected to bat.

Jack Loftus and veteran Simon Woodcock opened the batting, with Jack Loftus making a very useful (42) and Simon Woodcock (8). Ch0ris Hodson played an impeccable (64 not out) alongside youngster Alex Holland (23). Oliver Davis (0) went quickly. Lee Standell made a useful (16) and alongside Chris Hodson, Steve Maden (14 not out) pushed the Madeley score to 195 -5 from their 40 overs.

Much Wenlock were always going to struggle against a fairly strong Madeley Bowling attack. Ben James took the first wicket, with Harrison Vaughan taking the second wicket.

It was all downhill for Much Wenlock, as Alex Holland (4-7) and Chris Hodson (3-9) demolished the middle and tailenders. Much Wenlock finishing on 86 all out.
